Ueno

"The ear favors no particular "point of view." We are enveloped by sound. It forms a seamless web around us. We hear sounds from everywhere, without ever having to focus. Sounds come from "above," from "below," from in "front" of us, from "behind" us, from our "right," from our "left." (McLuhan 111)

When I first looked at this project I wanted to create a sound or a background music that reminds me of Japan. For me, it was the sound of the train station. As a kid, I used to just go to the local train station and watch the trains go by for a whole day. Still to this day, the love for the train does not end.

For this project, I took inspiration from a Japanese train line/station that I used a lot back then. Ueno station of Yamanote line, it was a necessary for our life as we used that staion at least once every single day. I searched for a free sound online and put it together for this to work. From the sound of people walking to the sound of the breaking, I dived into each sound and ensured that every sound was well mixed with each other.
